Dear brothers and sisters, I take this opportunity to inform you that the Catholic Extension Society has approved a Challenge Grant for the RE building Repairs in the amount of $50,000.00. The grant requirements are as follows.
Part I: The Parish must raise $25,000, between today (April 23) and August 31 2012 (or earlier) and the Catholic Extension Society will match with $25,000, dollar per dollar for a total of 50K.
Part 2: The Parish must raise a total of $50,000 between September 1, 2012 and April 1, 2013 (or earlier) and the Catholic Extension Society will match the amount with $25,000, one dollar for every two dollars raised, for a total of $75,000. The total amount to be provided by the Catholic Extension Society will be $50,000; however, there will be a grand total of $125,000 available for the RE Building repairs if the parish raise the funds required by the challenge grant.
Here is our plan: Presently, there are about 589 families registered with our parish. First, we challenge and highly encourage 250 families to donate $100.00 during Part 1 of this Grant Challenge. 250 families X $100 per family = $25,000.00.
I truly believe we can meet this goal in less than 60 days. Second, during Part 2 of the Grant Challenge we encourage all our families to donate $100 towards the matching goal. If 500 families participate the amount collected will be $50,000. Many of our families can make this financial sacrifice; others may not and that is O.K. During the second part of the challenge, we also encourage all our church organizations to aim all funds raising events towards supporting the challenge. As the Pastor, I plan to be an active participant and pledge to donate $100 for each phase of this grant. Please join me in this endeavor, after all, our parish will benefit by having a safer and renewed Religious Education Center.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, tomo esta opportunidad para informarles que la Sociedad Católica Extendida aprobó nuestro pedido de asistencia económica para reparar el Centro de Estudios Religiosos. La aprobación recibida es en forma de un Reto financiero. La Sociedad Católica donará la cantidad de $50,000 de la siguiente manera. Primera Parte: desde este dia hasta Agosto 31, 2012, nuestra Iglesia debe recaudar la cantidad de $25,000 y la Sociedad nos donará $25,000. Esto es un apoyo monetario de un dolar por cada dolar recaudado.
Segunda Parte: desde Septiembre 1, 2012 hasta Abril 1, 2013. Durante este tiempo nuestra Iglesia debe recaudar la cantidad de $50,000 y la Sociedad donará $25,000. Esto es un apoyo monetario de un dolar por cada dos dolares recaudados.
Este es nuestro plan: nuestra paroquia esta compuesta por approximadamente 589 familias; primeramente necesitamos que 250 familias donen la cantidad de $100 durante la primera etapa de este projecto. Esta participacion recaudara $25,000.
250 familias X $100 = $25,000. Con su apoyo podemos recaudar esta cantidad en muy poco tiempo ( 60 dias).
Durante la segunda etapa, necesitamos que 500 familias donen $100, para recaudar la cantidad total requerida de $50,000. Para muchas familias la donación de doscientos dolares no es problematico. Para otras familias puede ser problematico debido a la situacion economica. Las familias con problemas economicos no deben procuparse, cualquier cantidad donada sera muy agradecida. Durante esta segunda parte, todas nuestras organizaciones religiosas deben concentrarse en recaudar estos fondos requeridos.
Como Pastor de esta Iglesia, yo me comprometo a participar activamente y personalmente donare la cantidad de $100 durante cada fase de este Reto financiero. Por favor escriba Reto Financiero o Challenge Grant en su cheque y en el sobre (si esta donando dinero en efectivo). Muchas gracias por su participación y ayuda financiera.
